As the temperature mellows, we are quickly entering the season of fall leaf cleanup. The longer leaves are on your lawn, the harder they are to remove. This is true especially when rain and snow bind them to the ground. If left for only a few weeks, these leaves will smother your lawn and destroy it. They will steal your grass’ vigor and give moss the opportunity to take over. They will even promote lawn disease and attract worms, which in turn entice moles.  All this damage can be lasting, and harm even the hardiest lawns. It is especially important for our aerating and seeding customers that they not let leaves lay on the new grass.  Field’s Irrigation has the solution.

Our leaf program includes three cleanups a year to prevent the problems that come with leaf buildup on your lawn.  Our leaf crews are experienced and work quickly.  We have strong, three-wheel push blowers as well as leaf vacuums to make the clean up as fast as possible.

Our pricing structure brings fairer pricing to our customers. The first hour of lawn removal is $140 which includes two men and the leaf hauling and dumping fee. If the removal takes longer than an hour, the price for the remaining time is $55 per man, per hour and we will prorate the cost to the time they are on your property. We have GPS tracking on all our trucks and can tell exactly when they arrive and when they leave.

To protect your yard, we recommend leaf cleanup three times throughout the winter. In November we clean leaves from grass and hard surfaces, but not from flower beds. We will not waste your money cleaning out beds since it is extremely time consuming and the leaves are still falling; they would be back in your beds by the time you got home from work. Once we clean up the grass, it may look like there are more leaves in this area, but we do not add leaves to the beds. Our employees do not want to do that as much as you do not want them to. It makes it harder to clear out the beds later. During our second trip in December, we again remove leaves from grass and hard surfaces. This time, we also blow out the beds and bushes, but we do not take the time to get every leaf out. The leaves are still falling, and with the powerful leaf blowers we have, most of the leaves will come out of these areas anyway. In January we do a complete cleanup of all leaves from the grass, hard surfaces, beds, and bushes. The timing of this is weather dependent. In the case of snow, it may be February before we can complete this last one. We have also found that the cleanups in November and December were done so well that the last visit may not be necessary. In this case when we get to the property to do them, we just let the owner know and do not charge them anything.

This program will keep the leaves from remaining on the grass for long and keep prices down for our customers. We can accommodate cleanups more often, do complete cleanups, or do any combination of our three cleanups at any time. We schedule these on a first request first scheduled basis. The weeks before and the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas book very quickly. If you would like to schedule your cleanups please reply to this email and let us know you would like to follow our plan or what schedule you would like.

If you would like to clean up the leaves yourself and want us to vacuum them from the curb or driveway, we can do that as well. The price for that is $75 for 30 minutes. We can get most homes done in that time frame and this includes the dumping fees. If the vacuuming takes longer, the price for the additional time is $110 per hour and will be prorated to the time we are on your property. Please put them next to a hard surface as we cannot take our vacuum truck on lawns due to the weight.
