Fields Irrigation Inc want our customers to stay informed with news that can affect your lawn. As cold weather approaches we have a couple items of concern. We have been winterization irrigation systems since October and will stop winterizing the beginning of December. We are also starting leaf cleanup next week and it is very important to keep the leaves off your grass so your grass stays healthy and does not develop fungus in the future.
With the temperatures getting colder and dipping into the 20’s tomorrow night, if you have not winterized your system yet, you will need to wrap your backflow with a couple blankets and cover it with a black trash bag if it is outside and exposed to the elements to prevent any freeze damage to the exposed pipes. Anything below ground or in the crawlspace or garages will not be an issue as it will not be cold enough long enough to freeze the ground and then freeze anything below ground and if indoors, the heat from the house will keep it warm enough at this time.
